Mary Watts employed many staff at both her home in Limnerslease and through her Compton Potters' Arts Guild which provided employment in the village of Compton until 1956. Mary had cottages built in Compton to house her employees and was passionate about supporting those who worked for and with her.
Today we continue Mary’s impact; Watts Gallery - Artists' Village continues to grow but our people remain at the very heart of our organisation. Our staff and volunteers all share a passion for keeping the historical importance of George and Mary Watts life and work alive and working towards our mission of Art for All by All.
"My favourite part about working at Watts Gallery is the people! Everyone is so passionate about their work here and very friendly too!" - Laura MacCulloch, Head of Collections and Exhibitions
