News Story

Meet Libby, our Marketing Assistant. Find out more about what she does at Watts Gallery and find out some interesting facts about her.

Can you tell us a bit about what you do here at Watts Gallery?

I work in the Marketing Team, and a lot of my role involves communicating with our audience through newsletters, social media and our blog. I also help with designing print, promoting our events and exhibitions, sending our event listings to press and generally getting our name out there!

What is your favourite aspect of your role?

My background is in photography, so I love going around and taking photos of our beautiful site, but I also really enjoy getting to design the Watts Contemporary Gallery posters. I also love getting to think of fun content ideas for our social media and getting to collaborate with artists and other organisations.

What are you excited about that is coming up this year at Watts Gallery?

I’m really excited for the next Watts Contemporary Gallery exhibition, The Spirit of Charleston. There are some really beautiful works being exhibited, and I think it’s going to be an amazing show!

What is your favourite way to get creative in your free time?

I do lots of creative things in my free time, but I particularly love to make macramé wall hangings and plant hangers. I dabble in some linocut printing too.

Can you tell us an unexpected fact about yourself?

I’m feeling generous, I’ll give you two! My first car was a 1990 Volkswagen Golf (it’s older than me!). I still have it – she’s called Greta and I’ve been doing it up since I bought it. She’s my pride and joy!

I was in a dance school when I was younger. We performed at the Royal Albert Hall, and I got to meet actress Bonnie Langford!
