Join portrait and figure artist and sculptor Keziah Burt for this special masterclass in figure sculpting.During this two day course you will study the human form, working directly from two different life models, one per day. You will develop your understanding of human anatomy - sketching and sculpting from life to develop your practical skills and creativity. All tools, equipment, and bisque firing of the terracotta clay sculptures you create are provided in the course fee.
Day one: You will create a female torso, and a small seated figure. Direct sculpting from observation. Day two: You will create a sustained larger scale full figure in clay. Consolidating your understanding of drawing in space and working from life to create a proportion figurative sculpture. Approx. 35cm in length.Lunch can be pre-ordered and brought from the teashop onsite. Or you can bring your own packed lunch.
British Sculptor Keziah Burt has work in International, Private and Public Art Collections. Commissioned to sculpt a portrait bust of HRH Queen Elizabeth by the National Army Museum in London, to celebrate the Platinum Jubilee in 2022. Keziah also created a commemorative portrait of Scientist Rosalind Franklin for Hampstead Manor.
Fast developing a reputation as the go to Artist for contemporary portraiture, with work ranging from; national treasure Alan Titchmarsh, to art Royalty Barabara Hepworth, to Disabilities Activist Adam Pearson. Keziah’s recent bronze bust depicting King Charles III was featured in the Chelsea flower show Royal Garden in 2023.
Born in Hertfordshire, Masters graduate of LUSAD, Keziah spent 15 years as an Art Teacher before becoming a Sculptor full time. A proud Military wife and mother of two, Keziah lives in Surrey working between her home studio and the Farnham Pottery, where she teaches animal and figurative sculpture courses. Focusing most of her time on private commissions.
