About Pottery Course: hand building and throwing

Join Ceramist Luisa Cacciotti for a five-week pottery course at Watts Gallery in Guildford, Surrey.

This hands-on course will introduce you to a variety of techniques, including:

  • Pinch, slab, and coil methods for creating unique forms.
  • Wheel throwing for those who wish to explore this exciting technique.

You'll also have the opportunity to experiment with slip decorating and explore a range of glaze finishes to add personality to your creations.

This course is suitable for all levels whether you are new to pottery or have previous experience, the tutor can support you in developing your work and you can use your creativity to lead the way.


About the artist:

Luisa Cacciotti is based in Godalming, Surrey. Since the beginning of her ceramics practice in 1997 she has used a wide range of techniques and explored a variation of clays and glazes. She is specialised in porcelain and black stoneware for which she makes all of her own glazes.

She has taught pottery since 2005 and is currently teaching throwing classes at 318 ceramics in Farnham as well as doing pottery workshops at The Meath Epilepsy Charity in Godalming.
