I love going to work every day because of the space itself. We are so lucky to have a beautiful art gallery, historic home and chapel, all within 18 acres of woodland! The gardens and woods are lovely to explore, with Mary Watts’ pottery dotted around. The gallery is constantly evolving between new exhibitions and a rehang of the core collection. It’s really exciting and refreshing to come to work and see something new!
As the Community Programme Curator, I’m fortunate to work with people from all walks of life. I love taking visitors into the gallery for the first time and discussing some of G F Watts’ paintings with them – every discussion I have is different. Because I work with such a range of groups, I’m able to gain a new interpretation of our artworks each week, which allows for my own experience of the art to evolve with time.
It means I get to spend every day at an immensely creative site, and I’m constantly inspired by the artwork and people around me.
