MaryAnne Stevens, independent art historian and curator, was the Director of Academic Affairs at the Royal Academy of Arts, with overall responsibility for the Collections, Library and Archive, and the Learning and Architecture programmes. A specialist in nineteenth-century art, MaryAnne has curated major international loan exhibitions at the Royal Academy and elsewhere. MaryAnne has overseen the delivery of the £4.1 million on-line Cataloguing Project for the Royal Academy's Collection, Library and Archive, and directed the public education and architecture programmes that have established the Royal Academy as a national and international centre of excellence. MaryAnne is Trustee of the Royal Institute of British Architects, and member of the Architecture Advisory Committee of the British School at Rome and the Maggie's Centres Arts Group. She has recently stepped down from serving on the Advisory Board of the Paul Mellon Centre for Studies in British Art, the Faculty of Archaeology, History and Letters of the British School at Rome and the Executive Committee of the Walpole Society. She is a consultant to the DnB Sparebankstifelsen, Norway. MaryAnne sits on the Collections and Exhibitions, Finance and Buildings, Appeal Committee, Nominations Committee, Gardens and Grounds Committee and is a member of the Board Diversity and Inclusion Working group.
