We showcase a wide range of contemporary artists making painting, prints, ceramics, sculpture and craft. All works are for sale and help support our Art for All programme.
The dynamic, curated exhibitions support local, new and emerging artists and craftspeople. We also exhibit established artists of national and international merit. All artists invited to exhibit, resonate with the heritage of our unique Arts & Crafts site. And often, they reflect the approach of George and Mary Watts, who pushed the boundaries of fine art, craft and design.
We have presented work by many local artists including Celia Lewis, Diana Croft, Yeside Linney, Grace Ellen and Jennifer Jokhoo. As well as internationally known Norman Ackroyd RA, Alexander Creswell and Anita Klein RE.
When you purchase a piece of art from Watts Contemporary Gallery, you are helping support our charity and mission of Art for All by All.
All works in our Contemporary Gallery exhibitions are for sale. Shop in person or online.
Mary Watts established the Compton Potters' Arts Guild in 1898. She followed the lead of social reformers, such as William Morris and John Ruskin.
The Guild promoted traditional crafts among the local community. Retailers such as Liberty sold the products. With some still familiar and popular today.
Today the Pottery building carries on the spirit of enterprise. It is the home for our Shop and Contemporary Gallery, whose profits go towards our Art for All programme.
