Admissions prices will increase on 1 April 2025 following a review that will bring our ticket prices in line with other similar organisations. There will also be other changes to our ticketing this year, including the introduction of seasonal pricing, a child ticket price (5-15 years) and a £1 parking charge.
As a charity we need the support of our audiences to ensure we continue the legacy of our founders, George and Mary Watts, and provide access to art for a wide range of audiences. As we manage rising costs, we need to ensure the sustainability of our organisation.
The changes to our Admissions will allow us to maintain our high standards and continue to provide exceptional value.
Following modest increases for the last few years, during which there has been significant inflation, our prices have fallen behind other regional attractions. Watts Gallery is a charity, and we need to ensure the sustainability of the organisation to continue to provide our mission of art for all by all by addressing increasing costs.
We want to welcome all visitors including families and over a number of years we have worked hard to significantly extend our offer for children, including our first exhibition for children and families. We have been fortunate in previous years to have received funding that has helped support free entry for children under 18 years old. This funding has come to an end, and we need to ensure financial sustainability by introducing a child ticket for children aged 5 and over.
Members visit for free and can also bring up to four children under 16 years of age to visit for free. Find out more about memberships.
We offer many concession tickets through partners as well as green travel schemes. We also take part in several free entry days throughout the year, such as National Lottery Day and Heritage Open Days.
Additionally, this year we are introducing seasonal pricing with a peak season (March to October) and off-peak season (November to February). We have reduced the ticket price for those on Universal or Pension credit to £2 from £7.50. We will also be introducing monthly 'pay if and what you can’ days so you can visit for what you feel you are able to pay.
Members visit for free, enjoying unlimited entry to Watts Gallery as well as many other benefits. Find out more about memberships.
It costs the charity to maintain the site including the car parks. We have introduced a nominal £1 parking charge for visitors to help support the maintenance costs. Members get free parking with their memberships.
